Description

We are actively seeking a Head Buyer for Children’s / Tween categories. Someone that can bring a new level of creativity, inspiration and fashion that will shift the company to new heights in the industry. Boston Area.

The Head Buyer will plan, buy, and merchandise departments to achieve maximum sales, inventory turn and gross margin dollars. Grow comp store business and promote our brand’s image. Achieve sales and profitability targets for specific a specific category or categories. This includes assortment planning, merchandising strategies, vendor management, open-to-buy monitoring, pricing, cost negotiations, and inventory management. Lead, coach, and develop Team to achieve financial objectives and prepares them for broader responsibilities.
• Lead Buyer over all product categories building a strong brand image, maximizing sales and gross margin dollars.
• Maximize sales and profitability of the company through the development and implementation of strategy and reactions to sales trends.
• Determine the line structure, assortment, product flow and mix for greatest sales opportunities.
• Identify and develop key growth opportunities in top ranked categories.
• Develop monthly and seasonal marketing strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong market relationships and negotiate strategies with vendors.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of buying experience
• Must have experience fashion apparel experience, preference for Children’s and/or Junior/Tween categories
• Must have buying experience with broad range of categories
• Experienced in Planning and Allocation
• Previous experience working with Design and Product Development preferred, Private Label a plus
• Team player with strong verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong sense of fashion and market trends
• Strong analytical skills, including strong retail math aptitude.
